About Your Role:

This position supports Services Delivery and NOC on the disconnect and support ticket Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process of Spectrotel’s Managed services equipment.  This role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing returned networking and communication hardware to maintain product quality and customer satisfaction. This is a hands-on, in-person position.  This job role will enable the individual to grow in networking technologies and Spectrotel’s manage services complex network designs.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

  • Process Managed Services disconnect orders.
  • Set expectations with the customer for processing disconnect orders.
  • Hardware RMA Process and Testing of returned equipment.
  • Ongoing training and learning of different hardware vendors & portals.
  • Ensuring equipment is clean and in a presentable.

Responsibilities & Duties not limited to:

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Spectrotel’s warehouse located in Freehold, NJ.
  • Hands-on testing of Spectrotel Managed Equipment: IP Phone, Firewall, Routers, Switches; ATA, IP Phones, Mobility; SDWAN; Voice Gateways, Wireless APs.
  • Attention-to-detail, careful examination of returned devices for cosmetic and physical functionality.
  • Coordinate with Service Delivery and Project Management team members to adhere to the timeline and ensure equipment is returned in a timely manner.
  • Check-related equipment orders with other services that are provided by Spectrotel for interoperability and connections.
  • Manage vendor portal disconnects and hardware factory reset methods for device refurbishment.
  • Manage the inventory status inside Spectrotel’s internal system(s)
  • Spectrotel vendors/partners including:
    • Cisco Meraki
    • Fortinet Firewall, Switches, APs
    • 8x8 UCaaS phones & ATAs
    • Bigleaf & Velocloud SD WAN
    • Wireless LTE/5G – Cradlepoint, BEC, Inseego
    • Cisco SMB Switches and ISR routers
    • Ooma & Data remote PIAB devices

Required Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience working with or training on
    • Cisco ISO and CLI commands using ISR and Catalyst Switch
    • IP Phones: Polycom, Yealink, Mitel
    • VLAN and VLAN trunks and tagging
  • Knowledge and Experience with OSI Layer 1 through 4.
  • Subnetting: able to know the difference between Public and Private IP addresses and different CIDR block sizes.
  • Queue management and the ability to manage up to 100 disconnect orders a week.
  • Experience working with FTP, TFTP, HTTPS, and Console configuration options.
  • Knowledge of legacy PSTN technologies like Analog POTS line, PRI (A PLUS)

Preferred Optional Work and Education Experience:

  • Computer networking and or security certification from a technical school, college or hands-on experience.
  • Experience with standard site-to-site VPN configurations
  • CCNA Certified preferred but not required.
  • Fortinet Firewalls or NSE Certified preferred but not required.
  • Meraki Hardware
  • Cradlepoint Hardware Certified preferred but not required.
  • Microsoft Visio Experience
